We, the editorial team of this website, thought that you might want to get to know Stefan a little better. Therefore we have asked him a few questions.

- Stefan, you have been working as a coach and consultant for over 25 years. In your opinion, what are the most important parameters for successful change in an organisation?
- Adaptability comes to mind immediately. There is no need to remain in all of your old structures, nor to follow every trend. I often help my clients to understand what they want to keep and what they want to change. I am a fan of agile work, but it does not fit everywhere and for every process. It also takes courage. Everyone involved must be prepared to work on themselves, their team and their organisation - including senior management. I often have to make this uncomfortable necessity clear. But once the commitment is right, we can really make a difference.
- How do you manage to point out such uncomfortable necessities?
- I am straight forward regarding the issue but sensitive regarding people. This is very important to me. A customer once said that I would ask the right questions at the right time, so that the customer would then recognise the hurdle himself and be able to overcome it. I can very well find myself in that.
- How do you manage to point out such uncomfortable necessities?
- I am straight forward regarding the issue but sensitive regarding people. This is very important to me. A customer once said that I would ask the right questions at the right time, so that the customer would then recognise the hurdle himself and be able to overcome it. I can very well find myself in that.
- What do you, as a person, have to offer in order to maintain calmness and an overview even in difficult consulting situations?
- I believe in open dialogue and live it - including possible conflicts. For me, a conflict is never the conclusion or a dead end, but always the chance for something new to arise. It's like dissonances in music: they often make it interesting in the first place. As a passionate jazz pianist, I can only confirm this.
- You yourself were founder, partner and managing director of the medium-sized consulting company "Hattinger Büro" for 25 years. Does this experience help you to better understand your clients?
- Yes, I'm sure. As an entrepreneur and manager, I have experienced first-hand many of the issues that concern my clients today. Focusing on customer benefit, leadership and employee motivation, finding a balance between strategy work and excellence in operations are just a few examples that come to my mind spontaneously. All this has shaped me and made me more experienced as a person and as a consultant.
- Stefan, will you tell us something about yourself that makes you a bit uncomfortable?
- Hm, well, there is something. I sometimes order crazy stuff on the internet. There are so many things I've never heard of. So I get curious and want to find out what exactly all that is. Then we receive strange packages and my family has some big laughs. They say: "Daddy clicked again".
